The project has reached the M27 stage and lots has been going on. We’ve been busy on many fronts, not just with the research, but also attending standards and metrology committees, writing papers, presenting our work at major conferences and also co-chairing Europe’s prestigious 3D Metrology conference (3DMC) which included a session of several presentations from the DynaMITE team.

Our researchers have been able to achieve several key items from the objectives of the project such as:

  • photogrammetry of targets travelling at speeds up to 10 m/s;
  • photogrammetry frame rates exceeding 100 Hz;
  • simultaneous photogrammetric tracking of multiple 6DoF entries at high frame rates;
  • extended scan range of IR laser diode arrays at ~1550 nm
  • photogrammetry on a machine tool rotating at 3000 rpm;
  • a new design of fast self-tracking interferometer with multiple-wavelength coaxial beams;
  • a framework for uncertainty-driven reconfiguration of factory metrology systems;
  • and more…

You can hear more about our progress at next year’s 3DMC conference which will be in Loughborough (UK) and will take place from 24-26 September 2024. Hope to see you there!
