The Group of Applied Physics at the University of Geneva (UniGe) is a leading player in quantum communication and associated quantum technologies. The Quantum Technologies (sub-)Group aims to develop technologies ranging from QKD prototypes to teleportation. It develops enabling technologies including photon sources, interfaces and detectors. It exploits these technologies for sensing and imaging, as well as developing quantum metrology to better characterise them. UniGe participates in technical work-packages WP1 and WP3 based on its expertise in single-photon counting at telecom wavelengths, precise characterisation of single-photon detectors, and in developing a complete high-clock-rate quantum key distribution prototype including efficient post-processing and finite-key analysis.
